The training is to coordinate and harmonize:

All movement have a martial function to strengthen
our body mechanics safely.

The forms = learning the alphabet
The push hands = teaching grammar
The applications = teaching conversation
The weaponry = teach focusing ones' energy outward.
The free-play = teaching one to adapt, learn, grow, and improvise.
